Project summary
EVOLVE is a transnational partnership between research institutions, technology developers and industry organisations dedicated to building an evidence base for marine renewable energy as part of a diverse energy system.
The project will quantify the benefits associated with integrating ocean energy in low carbon energy systems across the regions of North West Europe. Quantifiable benefits can be measured through indicators of economic efficiency, such as the reduction in cost to the consumer through improved grid balancing, and changes in capacity credit and loss of load expectation.
EVOLVE will examine the overall market value of the inclusion of ocean energy in European energy systems.
