Impact

A lack of market support for ocean energy is currently an important barrier to increasing roll-out of this technology as part of a low-carbon energy system. The EVOLVE project will build an evidence case for establishing and re-establishing market support for marine energy projects in Europe. EVOLVE will profile the additional system benefits afforded by marine renewable energy as a part of diverse energy system, such increased energy security and cost effective matching of electricity supply and demand.
